John and Melanie Rigsby
With over 50 years combined hospitality experience, John and Melanie are committed to making your experience at Farmington memorable!
John has spent the better part of his working life with Farmington Fairways. In fact, he was the first junior member at the golf course in 1993, while he was a cook and waiter at a local upscale restaurant in Dawson Creek. He was hired full time in 1997 by the new owner Bob McDowell, on the grounds staff, and was enamoured immediately by the golf lifestyle. Gaining his Turf Management Diploma in 2000 from the esteemed Fairview College TMT program, John continued as superintendent, then general manager, and finally current owner in 2008, fulfilling a long time dream.
Melanie is a true champion of the foodservice industry: with over 25 years experience in the restaurant business, doing everything from serving tables to large scale event management to administration and accounting, she is the backbone of Farmington Fairways. She is also a proud mother of 3 fantastic children, and takes great pride in the fact that she was able to be a full time mother while maintaining her commitment to the foodservice industry, a task that, if you’ve ever worked in the industry know well – not easy to do.
Together, John and Melanie, with their rapidly growing family, are dedicated to the community in which they live, and take great pride in hosting charity fundraisers, donating time and services to the local community, and establishing and cultivating relationships with the people who patronize their business. They provide an unpretentious experience unparalleled in today’s golf world, and one you won’t soon forget – where friends are family, and family is everything. They invite you to come and experience the Farmington difference.
